Why Drifting Will Kill Racing
The history of the drift.
It `s hard to say exactly when the drift began as a sport, it is accredited to Kunimitsu Takahashi, who began using the techniques back in the 1970s, art His ability to get its tires to slip over the tires before meant that he could not power in the turns faster than everyone on runway. One particular street racer "Keiichi Tsuchiya" took these techniques and their adaptation on winding mountain roads around Japan, which has rapidly become racing Street crowd. Several magazines have begun to publish articles and interviews in the late 80's art "It was like they all say low-Hill from there
Although drift off like wildfire throughout Japan, it took much longer to gain acceptance in the country petrol-head, where the first record instead of drifting outside of Japan was back in 1996, at Willow Springs Raceway in California.
The idea behind the drift is to drag the car from a corner, drifting property is considered when the angle of Drift back of the car is over the front slip angle, while at first this was done to get around faster than Competition now comes from the `n` it is not possible to run a race car. This is mainly due to the fact that, when adrift you must be as spectacular as possible, the angle the more the side and the speed of moments crowds. Unfortunately this is not the fastest way to get around a track.
Drift is now well known that most other classes of racing, it `s catching on quickly as many other extreme sports. As more and more sponsors get their money in sport, we can expect to see bigger and better events worldwide, it is "a matter of time before drifting in the ranks of racing.
The death of the race.
The way I see is that the race has so much money behind it, combined with breakneck speed it can be very difficult for a pilot to a other driver, without turning into a burning wreckage, while faster is always better doesn `t do much for the spectators, and, like many sports, a Once the spectators leave, so do the sponsors and television rights and sources of other people's money.
Although this may take many years to overcome, I don `t see how the big races, like F1 can be competitive, there is almost no overtaking at the time of writing these lines and it is annoying to see better, a couple of times this year I asked myself why I spent an afternoon watching a race where there was no race, and I wondered who I could contact to get my afternoon return.
While drifting edges in the mainstream, and other sports forgotten what made them huge I think we will see a shift to instant gratification, which is on the rise place on the planet, is an excellent example the Internet. People are used to getting what they want almost immediately, no need to wait for the newscast on TV, no need to spend money on magazines, information is available 24 / 7 for about nothing.
The same thing applies to our leisure time, I'd be much better prepared to spend 2 hours to enjoy themselves until the end of a race where I know who has won at the first turn, the age of instant gratification is over and it bodes badly for the old heads automotive school, at least in my humble opinion.
