Ive had: Traxxas Rustler an electric Traxxas Stampede electric one, a Traxxas electric 4-TEC, an electric Traxxas Villain IV, and a Traxxas T-Maxx, and id have to say, if you do not maintenece, go electric. They are cheaper, cleaner and less costly to maintain. Now, as for the Rustler, 4tec and Stampede, Rustler I had a CES. The Stampede has not, nor is the 4-TEC. As I race, ESC wasn't all that great anymore, so do not let that be the Base your decision. For me, the only real problems I've had is with gear servo on the rush, then id get a Metal Gear servo for steering. Overall my electric love the Stampede more. cars on the road werent really that much fun. my trucks can travel on the road, but not as fast but then again, the cars cannot go off road at all. EDIT: you really need 4-WD, and Arent will find a nice truck with less than 200 dollars, but no fear, 2 wheel drive is fine.
