How to decide which RC car to buy
When it comes to deciding what RC car you will spend your hard earned money on that it is a difficult decision, it is a short guide to buying the first time, I am sure are not only overwhelmed by the choices but also types of RC cars available.
In a nutshell, there are two basic categories:
Off-Road
This is generally regarded as the most popular Off Road having several different subclasses as monster trucks, rally cars, Truggies and Bashers, the latter being a kind of on / off road
On-Road
This is my personal area of expertise, they are purebred race machine built eat tarmac, but it must be good tarmac, even slightly ages lots of parking will hurt these babies have the installation options you expect to see in NASCAR or F1, while depreciation of camber can be adjusted.
There are also two sub-categories.
Electric.
This is the starting point for most people, I suggest you give it a try before you dive in something that has an internal combustion engine. They are easy to maintain, relatively inexpensive, does not break half as much and are much, much more clean. What these lack in power they gain in accuracy, clip ever summit as a pro.
Nitro (aka gas or petrol RC)
Grandpa RC racing, these babies have incredible strength, Nitro engines also take a little practice, unlike electric riders there is a slight delay in the throttle and the break you need to get used to, but if the noise, smoke and power is your thing then look no further. Nitro cars tend to survive not planted and electric because of the weight and speed of the accident.
The basic rule is to stick to electric until you're ready to run Nitro, they are deadly fast and many things can go wrong, short of such batteries, and controller gas may stick open. While on an electric car will not change to run away with internal combustion is another story …
So you've decided what main class that you want, you must now decide what the car will be used to it is a huge difference between the warrior weekend tearing up the local park and anyone who wants to take racing seriously.
Some advice on selecting a good car boot:
RC 2nd hand equipment has no resale value, which is good for you, look in forums and auction sites and you will save approximately 75% of original cost, not to mention that most owners have several sections UPS = extra and they normally throw in the cartel.
it takes three things to get into RC, kit, electronics for the kit (drive speed, receiver, batteries Sero's,) and a remote
Construction of the car is easy and you can get in about 8 hours, but the birthday boy, it is better to get a RTR (Ready to Race), as these often come with all of the above, check the box before buying he will tell you what extra you need. The TT01 is usually delivered with everything you need out of the remote spending it's worth a little more about the remote as it something that you will use again and again.
Sure you'll be able to find spare parts and hop-ups for the kit. (Important)
The best place to buy is the Internet, it is true undoubtedly, you get the best variety and prices of stores online.
Stay away from Nitro (Gas) RC Propulsion until you it can drive electric, electric RC cars are easy and inexpensive to maintain and provide far fewer problems overall.
What car to buy?
Personally I would advise a Tamiya TT01, they have tremendous support worldwide, while the car did not finesse a carbon fiber racing machine he can still compete, winning events on the RC is no coherence, no hot tire (yes you tire Heaters RC, blew me away the first time, but I still ended up beating most of the "Tire-Warming-Pro"
The next step up over there is a Tamiya TA05, this is a belt drive RC car, while the TT01 is a driven shaft, there are some differences, but I'll leave it for a different article. The TA05 can also take any engine, so you can race in three classes (Stock, Super Stock and Mod)
Using one of the cars above is profitable and a good way to see if RC Racing is something you might want go to Step next. Once you've selected your car, it's time to get involved, the best way is to join a local running club …
