Ultra-caps and the Hobby Shop Owner Syndrome

Anyone who has ever been in a DIY store, or parts for their car remote will be able to relate. While the hobby shop owners are in no way rude or useless there is a certain quality they all seem to have, also known as the "Simpsons Comic Book Shop Guy" syndrome is perhaps the best tool in their arsenal of sale. In the world of RC cars and hobby shops, hobby shop owner RC King, take for example the point in my career where I realized RC I needed to replace the standard battery connectors with ultra-caps, now nobody told me when I got my kit that connectors standard would eventually melt and begin to create an intermittent problem that took months to resolve. Only after they have just because I realized they were the problem. So after that I was going to make a few sets of sheets deans, or Ultra-stoppers. It can not pass the course without getting so hot that they deform, they now tend to come in two colors, red and black ultra-caps. You can not tell the difference by looking at them, they look alike and have the same dimensions. They work very well when you match red to red or black black, but when you try to match a red female black male, they simply do not quiet fit together like they should. Now, I bet the owner of this hobby shop knew what he was doing when he sold me two different series, all the time thinking "You'll be back …", the same thing when I got my kit and then it was very useful, betrayed a small amount of information on what I needed. It's something I notice every hobby shop I've ever used, and talked to others who had the same experience. Perhaps this trial by fire is the only way to really get into the sport because everyone before you had difficulty understanding things like deployment and transmission to the front and center diffs way, the information is not so easy to find and often you'll need to put time on the track to see how it works. Regarding the Deans plugs, always replace the standard connections with deans, the standard are those who have been long, but they all eventually fail, and often a bad battery or the engine connection can be very frustrating to solve problems. You'll need to solder the deans on the son, and be very careful not to short the battery while doing this, because it can completely destroy the battery, sometimes even reverse the polarity of the one on the battery units. Deans Welding Tips

  • When soldering the ultra-caps make sure you leave the attack, men and women, otherwise the corks may deflect the heat and will be very difficult connect and disconnect.
  • Heat the connection and the wire attached before you begin, ensure that the weld is properly fixed.
  • Make sure the surface is clean before you start a dirty surface will not last long and will eventually break the weld.
  • Remove existing lean Before starting, old weld does not bind properly to the new welding
  • If in doubt ask your local hobby shop for Guy support while their advice so you'll be back for more most of these guys can solder in their sleep, and they like being noticed.
  • Ensure that the connection between your electronic devices on the willingness to improve the lives of all components
  • Using the The plastic sleeve supplied with the Ultra = Plug to seal welding, this place on the wire before you start, then drag it onto the solder once your make and use the iron shrink the solder on your work, it will prevent short.
