Can I get an FM transmitter from a controller?

I want to make an FM transmitter because they are too expensive to buy. I found a radio controlled rc car that I could use. It is rated at 49 MHz, so if I could find the capacitor (I think its a capacitor that controls frequency, tell me otherwise if I'm wrong) that controls the frequency, I could increase the frequency range FM replacement with a variable capacitor. Im going to put in an audio input jack in the controller too. The controller uses a 9 volt battery. Is this work with an idea to the radio regularly, as in being actually able to play music?

As it is (probably) crystal control transmitter, you would not be able to shift its frequency but by changing the crystal frequency, and inductance of listening (s). Even then, the device oscillator (transistor?) May not be moved up in frequency. There are plenty of FM 'bug' on internet circuits, and are not expensive to build. They could be adjusted by replacing the microphone with a jack (some circuit changes may need to be done), then the food in the headphone output of a player. There are also kits / designs available to provide full FM stereo, for example to send your music to a small FM receiver that you carry. Note, these devices have limited range, if you exceed the government regulated the output power, you could find a "G" – man at your door! Check local regulations.
