You can always build a gyroscope. You have permission. If you build the mechanical the gyro, you will need to spin very fast, and it is a great project. I do not know why you talk about the RC car, unless you talk about the engine. Most gyros use slip rings to transfer power from the engine, so you have to consider that. Sounds like fun, but a bit of a big project.
