electric rc car wiring
Electrical circuit? RC Car question?

I have to build a car that travels between 5-10 in 45 seconds or less and stops whrever judges say Wired us an RC car to run straight when you turn it on, w / o the remote, now for our system we need breakign a small second timer that could cut electricity to the engine and stop the car on a Dime, anyone know of a switch timer enoguh a small RC car? I am a student, please use techonlogy simple and explain what you mean if please.

A 555 timer is an integrated circuit uses an RC time constant to determine the time limit. If you do not know what it means then buy a kit (see link) a timer especiallyy singular timer 555 will not be very accurate if you change the settings on the timer field during the test. Consider the difference in time the car takes to travel 6 inches. Your clock must be defined more precisely that, whatever that 6 inches is time travel. In addition, it must be very precise in triggering the timing that the car starts moving. Consider using a counter instead of counting the revolutions of a wheel. It would be very accurate and easy to install on the ground. You could mount a small magnet on the wheel and use a Reed switch (magnetic switch) or a Hall effect sensor to detect the rotation of the wheel. Using a countdown counter the power engine will be stopped when the counter reaches zero. Just calculate how many turns the wheel must make to a given distanct Travel and define count in the down. The magnetic Reed switch is easy to use and wire up. If you want more or indeterminacies can use a magnet for a reason whatever, you can try the following. Another way to count the wheels is to use an optical switch. This is a small light source and plaice sensor has a small space between them. Nothing to pass between the blocks and generates a light pulse. The mouse-style old PC (the one with the ball rubber) has a couple of them in along with slotted discs are used to detect the amount of the mouse is moved. So you can either use disk slot from a mouse or make your own.
